I went to pick up the foam to be used for the thrust duct and the lift duct at a fellow hovercrafters foam shop. He has a hot wire to beat all hot wires. He has 2 computer controlled hot wires. The small one can handle a 4x8 sheet.

The shop owner and a friend are build matching UH-15TA hovercrafts. Each craft is made from 4 blocks of foam. The CNC hot wire does a very nice job.

I have decided to use blocks of foam instead of the empty milk jugs for positive floatation. I made a hotwire table complete with a fence in order to cut all of the foam needed for floatation. This worked a lot better than the free hand cutting. Thanks Dave for the idea of using foam.

Here is a shot of the foam blocks secured in the hull. The foam provides the same amount of floatation as 85+ milk jugs.
