15S Cockpit Page.

The cockpit sides were glued to the bottom stringers. It is starting to take the shape of a hovercraft.

The top cockpit stringers are glued in place. Each stringer is made up of 3 strips of pine laminated togeter. It is over an inch wide. The upper curve of the cockpit was not as smooth as I had intended. The stringers made a more natural curve. So I bent the stringers and glued them in place and trimmed the upper cockpit to the stringer. The curve looks more natural.

The second picture is the first layer of the foam ring for the lift duct. The next layer of foam will be added and then a radius will be sanded into the foam to form a smooth transition for the air into the lift duct.

Attached the top of the cockpit and glassed the inlet of the lift duct and the front lip. Also added the back wall to the cockpit.

Worked on the dashboard. I made the template for the gauges and the switches using the computer. When I was doing the trial fit of the instrument cluster, the whole layout slipped out of my hands. Luckily only the tach broke, but the tach is the most expensive guage. I already have a new replacement. :(
