Muscoda, WI. August 16 & 17, 2008.

This was the second time that I have taken the hover out. I tried to clean the oil from the maiden voyage, but once it gets in the belts it is hard to get the oil out. The belt going from the engine to the variator still had oil in it. The oil in that belt made it difficult to change the variator. The lift fan was running at full lift and was making a lot of spray. The thrust belt had loosend and the engine would not go much over 4000 rpm before the thrust belt started slipping. I ended up taking the craft out for a short trip on the water and bringing it back. The tension on the thrust belt was adjusted, but the oil on the lift belt made the craft too difficult to control. So the craft sat most of the time during the weekend.

Even though I did not get to use the craft much during the weekend, I still had a great time. It was fun to see some old faces and meet some new people. The weather was perfect and the cookout was delicious.

Below are some pictures and a couple of videos from the hover-in.
