18SP Introduction.
July 4, 2010. I took the UH-18SP for its first hover on my driveway. Here is a link to the pictures and video.
October 1, 2009. One thing led to another and I now have a UH-18SP(W?). I have picked up this project from another builder and it is quite far along. The pictures below show how the craft looks with it's day old paint job. This hovercraft is built entirely to the plans and will have my usual white with red colors.
October 14, 2009. The engine came with a custom intake manifold. It looks like a tunnel ram intake. But it needed a carb adapter plate. The engine has a Weber DGEV 32/36 carb. So I milled an adapter plate out of aluminum to fit the carb and the intake manifold. The pictures below show the engine in the craft. Also the windshield frame is now attached to the hover.
October 27, 2009. Worked on the exhaust. I created the exhaust flanges from 1/4" steel and used the lathe to bore the big hole. I don't know what I would do without a lathe! Also mounted the lift fan in the duct.
